Aksi Tanam Pohon, Mahasiswa KKN Unsa: Cegah Polusi Udara

Mahasiswa Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) Universitas Sawerigading (Unsa) Makassar.

Makassar, Karebaindonesia.id — Mahasiswa Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) Universitas Sawerigading (Unsa) Makassar melakukan penanaman pohon di Kelurahan Barombong, Kecamatan Tamalate, Kota Makassar, Sabtu, (19/09/2020).

Dalam kegiatan ini, mahasiswa KKN Unsa menanam sebanyak 50 bibit Pohon Ketapang Kencana di dua lokasi yakni di Perumahan Bontoa Indah Permai RW 5, RT 5 dan Villa Discove 2, RW 4, RT 2.

Kegiatan ini dihadiri Pembimbing KKN Unsa, Ahmad Syaekhu dan Lurah Barombong, H. Andi Ismail Bau Sawa.

Ketua Panitia Pelaksana KKN Unsa, Asbullah Thamrin mengatakan bahwa kegiatan ini merupakan aksi kepedulian terhadap lingkungan hidup dan kemasyarakatan.

“Kegiatan ini merupakan bentuk kepedulian mahasiswa KKN Unsa dalam pelestarian lingkungan dengan menanam pohon pelindung di masyarakat,” ujarnya kepada Karebaindonesia.id.

“Kegiatan ini juga sebagai bentuk pengabdian kepada masyarakat dalam bidang lingkungan,” sambungnya.

Sedangkan Ketua Kelompok 2 KKN Unsa 2020, Nawir mengatakan, maksud dan tujuan dengan dilaksanakannya penanaman bibit pohon petai tersebut yakni untuk mencegah polusi udara, membuat udara jadi lebih segar, menjaga populasi makhluk hidup dan mencegah terjadinya banjir.

“Pohon Ketapang Kencana ini tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai peneduh saja, tanaman ini memiliki manfaat sebagai penyerap polusi udara sehingga cocok untuk ditanam di taman-taman kota dan juga taman rumah,” kata Nawir.

Sementara itu, Lurah Barombong, Andi Ismail Bau Sawa mengaku sangat mengapresiasi kegiatan dari mahasiswa KKN Unsa 2020.

“Saya mengapresiasi kegiatan adik-adik dari KKN Unsa karena selain menghijaukan lingkungan masyarakat juga bisa menikmati hasilnya,” tutur Andi Ismail.

Penanaman Pohon Ketapang Kencana merupakan program terakhir Kelompok 2 KKN Unsa 2020.

Sebelumnya, Kelompok 2 KKN Unsa 2020 juga telah melakukan berbagai kegiatan yakni pembagian masker dan sosialisasi di Taman Pakui serta berbagi kebahagiaan bersama Adik Binaan dari Komunitas Peduli Anak Yatim dan Fakir Miskin (KPAY FM) di Perumahan Graha Pampang Indah di Jalan Pampang Utama.
