Makassar, Karebaindonesia.id — PT Bank BRI Syariah Tbk, PT Bank Syariah Mandiri, dan PT Bank BNI Syariah resmi bergabung dan berganti nama menjadi PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk, pada Februari 2021 mendatang. Bank hasil merger ini memiliki aset senilai Rp. 214 Triliun dengan modal inti Rp. 20 Triliun.

Arief Rosyid Hasan, Komisioner Independen PT Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) Tbk, mengatakan, gabungan tiga bank syariah ini telah memasuki babak baru.

“Insya Allah, ini akan menjadi sentral ekonomi syariah yang ada di Indonesia dengan aset mencapai Rp. 214 Triliun dengan modal inti mencapai Rp. 20 Triliun,” ucapnya kepada Karebaindonesia.id usai jumpa pers di Cafe Habitus, Jalan Herstaning, Kota Makassar, Senin (21/12).

Arief juga menyampaikan, BSI nantinya akan menjadi salah satu pusat ekonomi syariah terbesar di Indonesia. Ditambah dengan adanya 1.200 kantor cabang, 1.700 Atm yang tersebar di seluruh Indonesia serta disokong oleh 20.000 karyawan.

Di tahun pertamanya, BSI menargetkan perluasan informasi terkait pengetahuan masyarakat mengenai Bank Syariah Indonesia.

“Menurut data yang kami peroleh, dari 100 orang Indonesia hanya ada 8 orang yang paham dan menabung di Bank Syariah,” tambahnya.

“Besar harapan kami semua dari Bank Syariah Indonesia, Masyarakat Indonesia beralih menggunakan sistem ekonomi perbankan yang berbasis syariah,” pungkas Arief.

Diketahui, jumlah aset dan modal inti tersebut menempatkan Bank Syariah Indonesia masuk dalam daftar 10 besar bank terbesar di Indonesia dari sisi aset serta top 10 bank syariah terbesar di dunia dari sisi kapitalisasi pasar dalam 5 tahun ke depan.
