Komite II Dewan Perwakilan Daerah Republik Indonesia (DPD RI) merupakan salah satu alat kelengkapan DPD, yang membidangi Sumber Daya Alam dan Sumber Daya Ekonomi lainnya dengan jumlah anggota 34 (tiga puluh empat) orang
Ketua Komite II DPD RI Yorrys Raweyai beserta 17 anggota lainnya tiba dikecamatan Bangkala, kabupaten jeneponto sekitar pukul 08.00 wita dan disambut langsung bupati Iksan Iskandar
Kunjungan Kerja Komite II DPD RI di Kabupaten Jeneponto kali ini adalah dalam rangka melakukan kegiatan dengar pendapat bersama pemerintah daerah, stakholder, peternak dan pelaku usaha jual beli hewan, selain itu juga sekaligus melakukan peninjauan lapangan ke Desa Pattiro, Kecamatan Bangkala Barat
Ketua Komite II DPD RI Yorrys Raweyai menjelaskan alasan kabupaten jeneponto menjadi pilihan lokasi kunjungan kerja dikarenakan saat ini tengah menjadi daerah dengan angka kasus Penyakit Mulut dan Kuku (PMK) yang tinggi
Ia melanjutkan bahwa selain silaturrahim dengan warga jeneponto, kunjungan kerja kali ini juga dimaksudkan sebagai upaya untuk mendialogkan aspirasi dan menyaksikan langsung kondisi masyarakat mengenai penanganan virus Penyakit Mulut dan Kuku pada Hewan Ternak.
_“melalui kesempatan tatap muka, Komite II DPD RI ingin mendapatkan masukan atau pandangan yang lebih komprehensif tentang penyelenggaraan peternakan dan kesehatan hewan didaerah ini_”jelasnya
Kemudian pada kesempatan yang sama terkait penanganan virus PMK dijeneponto, bupati Iksan Iskandar dalam sambutan menjelaskan bahwa sampai dengan 3 Agustus 2022, terdapat 410 ekor Sapi dan 349 Kerbau yang Sakit, kemudian dilakukan pemotongan bersyarat 1 ekor sapi.
terdapat juga sejumlah ternak yang Mati yakni 6 ekor Sapi dan yang Sembuh 14 ekor Sapi. Sehingga Sisa Kasus masih terdapat 390 Ekor Sapi dan 349 ekor Kerbau. Untuk jenis ternak Kambing belum ada Kasus, jelas bupati
bupati Iksan Iskandar melanjutkan bahwa upaya pencegahan dan penanganan terus digeliatkan dengan melakukan vaksinasi di seluruh Kecamatan dengan rincian capaian sebanyak 788 ekor sapi, 153 ekor Kerbau dan 70 ekor kambing
_“Kami tambahkan bahwa Populasi Ternak hingga Triwulan II di daerah ini untuk Sapi sebanyak 28.618 Kerbau 3.154 dan Kambing 246.711 Ekor, Kemudian Kuda merupakan populasi terbanyak yang mencapai 74.642 ekor_”jelas bupati Iksan
Pada akhir sambutan bupati Iksan Iskandar berharap agar upaya pencegahan dan penanganan PMK dikabupaten jeneponto dapat dilakukan percepatan berkat kesungguhan serta sinergi bersama
_“kita optimis rentang kendali penganan kasus PMK bisa dimaksimalkan berkat dukungan, komitmen, semangat & idealisme kebersamaan_”ujarnya
Kegiatan kujungan kerja komite II DPD RI kemudian dilanjutkan dengan penyerahan vaksin secara simbolis dan peninjauan lapangan ke Desa Pattiro, Kecamatan Bangkala Barat
Turut hadir 17 Pimpinan dan Anggota Komite II DPD RI lainnya, Direktur Pengolahan dan Pemasaran Hasil Peternakan Kementerian Pertanian Tri Melasari, S.Pt. M.Si, beserta tim, Kepala Pusat Karantina Hewan dan Keamanan Hayati Hewani Kementerian Pertanian drh. Wisnu Wasesa Putra, M.P., beserta tim, Direktur Pemulihan Peningkatan Sosial, Ekonomi, dan Sumber Daya Alam, Badan Nasional Penanggulangan Bencana (BNPB) Dra. Andi Eviana, M.Si, Kepala Balai Besar Karantina Pertanian Makassar Lutfie Natsir, Sekretaris Daerah Kabupaten Jeneponto yang juga menjabat sebagai Ketua Satgas PMK Muh.
