Dilansir dari Channel YouTube Najwa Shihab, Wapres Ma’ruf Amin buka suara terkait pandangan publik terhadap dirinya yang jarang muncul.

Dalam sebuah video yang bertajuk “Mar’uf Amin: Soal Wapres yang Terlupakan” pada Selasa, 20 Oktober 2020 kemarin, saat diwawancarai secara ekslusif oleh Najwa Shihab, Ma’ruf Amin merasa tak mempermasalahkan jika dirinya dianggap Wapres yang terlupakan.

“Saya kira tidak masalah, boleh saja. Karena yang diukur dan dilihat publik yaitu statement-statement. Maka hasilnya seperti itu,” ujarnya di video tersebut.

Meski dianggap demikian, Ma’ruf Amin memastikan dirinya akan tetap menjalankan tugasnya sebagai Wapres.

“Kalau ditelusuri kinerjanya sebagai wapres ya membantu presiden dalam sidang kabinet, sidang terbatas, sidang paripurna. Saya koordinasikan dan itu kan tidak perlu di-statement-kan, karena itulah yang memberikan statement itu presiden. Saya kira itu hak beliau,” tambahnya.

Menurutnya, Ma’ruf Amin menegaskan dirinya yang memegang prinsip untuk berhemat dalam berbicara saat bertugas sebagai Wapres.

“Saya itu memang tidak begitu banyak statement. Saya berprinsip ada yang harus di-Statement-kan, ada yang harus dikerjakan tanpa perlu di-statementz-kan,” katanya.[]
