Takalar, Karebaindonesia.id – Dosen Program Studi Manajemen Fakultas Ekonomi (FE) Universitas Negeri Makassar (UNM) mengadakan Program Kemitraan Masyarakat (PKM) 2020 dengan judul “PKM Manajemen Persediaan Pada Usaha Garam” pada Sabtu, 17 Oktober 2020 kemarin di Dusun Patte’ne, Desa Bontomanai, Kecamatan Mangara Bombang, Kabupaten Takalar.

Kegiatan yang diinisiasi oleh dosen UNM seperti, Tenri SP Dipoatmojo, Anwar, dan Hety Budiyanti ini bertujuan untuk memotivasi pemilik usaha garam dalam melakukan manajemen persediaan sebagai pendukung dalam pengembangan usahanya.

Manajemen persediaan merupakan pengetahuan yang sangat penting untuk meningkatkan laba usaha. Produksi garam sangat dipengaruhi oleh kondisi iklim yang ada, sehingga selama 1 tahun hanya melakukan produksi optimal 5 bulan (Juli sampai November).

Oleh karenanya, jika produksinya melimpah, maka akan memberikan efek terhadap penurunan harga. Pemilik usaha garam dapat melakukan penyimpanan hasil produksi untuk menyesuaikan peningkatan harga di pasar.

Azis, Salah satu pemasok garam yang mengikuti kegiatan ini mengatakan bahwa pelatihan manajemen persediaan memberikan pengetahuan baru dalam mengelolah usahanya.

“Kami selama ini sudah melakukan manajemen persediaan dengan cara menyesuaikan modal usaha, jika modal usaha ada akan dilakukan penampungan terhadap hasil produksi yang dilakukan. Model persediaan yang dikembangkan murni dari pengalaman atau warisan turun temurun,” katanya.

Sementara itu, Ketua Tim PKM, Tenri SP Dipoatmojo mengatakan bahwa pelatihan ini akan mengantar para pemilik usaha garam sadar akan petingnya manajemen persediaan dalam pengembangan usaha.

“Selama pelaksanaan pealtihan dilakukan para peserta sangat antusias dalam memahami teknik persediaan yang disampaikan disesuaikan dengan kebiasaan yang diterapkan di usaha mereka.

“Hal ini menggambarkan bahwa para pemilik usaha sangat sadar dengan usahanya yang masih dikelolah manual jauh dari kesan professional.

“Harapan dari semua peserta terkait dengan pelatihan yang dilakukan adalah keberlanjutan pelatihan dilain waktu untuk menjadikan usahanya dapat berkembang dengan baik,” ujarnya.[]
