Fenomena Waterspout Terjadi di Jeneponto, Begini Penjelasan BMKG

Jakarta, karebaindonesia.id – Badan Meteorologi Klimatologi dan Geofisika (BMKG) Wilayah IV Makassar menjelaskan fenomena alam waterspout yang terjadi di Kabupaten Jeneponto, Sulawesi Selatan.
Beredar sebuah video fenomena alam yang diduga angin puting beliung di Kabupaten Jeneponto, Sulawesi Selatan. Video itu viral di media sosial, sehingga menjadi perbincangan para netizen.

“Terkait kejadian angin puting beliung di Jeneponto, jadi perlu diluruskan kejadian itu lebih tepatnya disebut dengan waterspout. Merupakan yang hampir sama dengan puting beliung yang membedakan hanya lokasi kejadiannya yaitu di perairan,” jelas Forcaster BMKG Wilayah IV Makassar, Agusmin H, Jumat (25/6).

Agusmin menuturkan, water spout biasanya terbentuk karena adanya pertumbuhan awan Cumulonimbus di atas perairan dan didukung juga oleh perbedaan temperatur.

“Juga adanya tekanan serta angin sehingga jika memungkinkan, maka akan terbentuklah pusaran angin, seperti dalam video tersebut,” sambungnya.

Fenomena water spout ini menurut Agusmin sangat berbahaya bagi para pelaut yang berada di perairan dan juga warga yang berada di pesisir pantai. Agusmin meminta warga yang berada di lokasi terbentuknya water spout agar bisa menjauhi lokasi tersebut.

“iya berbahaya, karena kejadiannya diperairan, jika waterspout kejadiannya di pesisir yang terdapat penduduk mohon untuk menghindari serta menjauh dan bagi yang beraktifitas di perairan seperti nelayan dan sebagainya mohon untuk menghindari serta menjauh dari water spout tersebut,” ungkapnya.
