Melalui sambungan telepon bersama Perdana Menteri Israel, Benyamin Netanyahu pada Selasa, 17 November 2020 lalu, Joe Biden optimis akan mendapatkan dukungan tak hanya dari Partai Republik, juga dari Partai Demokrat.
“(Biden) menegaskan kembali dukungannya yang kuat untuk keamanan Israel dan masa depannya sebagai Yahudi dan Demokrat,” bunyi melalui pertanyaan di kantor Joe Biden dilansir dari AFP pada Rabu, 18 November 2020 kemarin.
Sementara itu, PM Israel, Benyamin Netanyahu mengatakan bahwa hubungan antara Israel dan AS adalah bagian paling fundamental dari keamanan Israel dan kebijakannya.
Kabarnya, Benyamin Netanyahu dalam waktu dekat akan melakukan pertemuan dengan Joe Biden untuk membahas beberapa isu yang sempat tertunda untuk dibahas, termasuk penguatan kerjasama Israel-AS.
“Keduanya telah sepakat untuk segera bertemu untuk mendiskusikan berbagai isu dan mempertegas kembali perlunya penguatan kerjasama kedua negara,” ungkap pihak Pemerintah Israel.[]
