karebaindonesia.id,- Seorang mahasiswa Institute Pertanian Bogor (IPB University) asal Kabupaten Gowa, Sulawesi Selatan melakukan kegiatan KKN-T di Desa Lempangang, Kabupaten Gowa. Salah satu program unggulan yang diusung adalah edukasi pemanfaatan pekarangan kepada masyarakat setempat.
IPB University merupakan salah satu kampus terbaik di tanah air. IPB University kerap memberikan berbagai sumbangsih untuk Indonesia terkhusunya dalam meningkatkan sistem pertanian di Indonesia. Kali ini mahasiswa IPB University melakukan kegiatan kuliah kerja nyata tematik (KKN-T) sebagai bentuk pengabdian kepada masyarakat.
Pelaksanaan KKN-T sangat berbeda dengan pelaksanaan KKN-T sebelumnya, kegiatan KKN-T tahun ini dilaksanskan diberbagai daerah yang tersebar di seluruh Indonesia, salah satunya di Desa Lempangang, Kabupaten Gowa, Sulawesi Selatan.
“Saya mempunyai dua kegiatan besar dalam program KKN-T ini, yaitu edukasi covid-19 dan edukasi pemanfataan pekarangan. Dalam pelaksanaan program ini saya bermitra dengan Desa Lempangang, Kabupaten Gowa. Edukasi yang saya lakukan adalah dengan memberikan sosialisasi, pemahaman dan pendampingan pemanfaatan pekarangan terkait dengan pemanfaatan pekarangan dari limbah rumah tangga seperti plastik deterjen, minyak, botol bekas, pembuatan vertikultur, dan budikdamber (budidaya ikan dalam ember).” Ucap Ikhwana.
Hasil edukasi yang diberikan oleh tim KKN-T IPB di Gowa ini menghasilkan output yaitu terwujudnya pemanfaatan pekarangan dengan pembuatan vertikultur di sekitar kampung KB dan rumah data Desa Lempangang.
“Ke depannya di sekitar rumah data dan Kampung KB insyaallah akan kita garap sedemikian rupa agar pekarangannya dapat dimanfaatkan dengan baik, dan ibu-ibu sekitar sini khusunya ibu PKK dapat memperoleh hasilnya sendiri” Ujar Kepala Desa Lempangang dan Ketua PKK Desa Lempangang.
Program KKN-T terkait edukasi pemanfaatan pekarangan dilatarbelakangi oleh “pola pemanfaatan pekarangan masyarakat yang hanya menanam tanaman hias terlebih pada masa pandemi dimana sangat sulit memperoleh sayuran yang dibeli langsung pada pedagang, selain harganya yang cukup meningkat potensi masyarakat terpapar Covid-19 lebih besar”. Tambah Ikhwana.
Selain itu, program kerja tersebut sejalan dengan program “KAMPUNG REWAKO dan KAMPUNG KB” yang diusung oleh pemerintah Kabupaten Gowa dalam pemberdayaan masyarakat desa yang terdapat di Kabupaten Gowa.
