Mahfud MD: Pemerintah Presiden Joko Widodo Persuasif Selesaikan Kasus HRS

Jakarta, karebaindonesia.id – Menteri Koordinator Bidang Politik, Hukum, dan HAM (Menkopolhukam), Mahfud MD mengatakan bahwa pemerintahan Presiden RI Joko Widodo berencana akan menyelesaikan dengan cara persuasif terhadap kasus Imam Besar Front Pembela Islam (FPI), Habib Rizieq Shihab (HRS).

Saat diwawancarai Wartawan Senior, Karni Ilyas di kanal Youtube Karni Ilyas Club pada Minggu, 6 Desember 2020 lalu, dia mengatakan bahwa upaya persuasif itu dianggap terbaik agar rakyat sipil tidak boleh takut kepada aparat Polisi maupun TNI.

Selain itu, dia juga menilai bahwa upaya tersebut sangat cocok dengan kondisi politik di Indonesia yang menganut sistem demokrasi. Menurutnya, sebagai negara demokrasi, pemerintah mempunyai tugas utama untuk wajib menjaga dan melindungi Hak Asasi Manusia (HAM) setiap warga negaranya.

Tambahnya, pemerintah sebenarnya bisa saja menggunakan kekuatan negara, namun kenyataannya belum bisa dimaskimalkan. Itulah yang menyebabkan pemerintah saat ini dinilai gagap dalam upaya penanganan kasus HRS.

Mahfud MD juga mengungkapkan bahwa Presiden Jokowi dikabarkan telah mengintruksikan agar terjamin hak-hak hukum setiap warga negara, termasuk dalam kasus HRS. Atas dasar itulah, kini pemerintah tangani kasus HRS dengan jalan persuasif.

Hingga kini, Pemerintah terus berusaha agar melakukan konfirmasi dengan pihak HRS secara masif guna tercipta kondusifitas di tengah masyarakat.[]
