Mantap, Bina Desa Kemahasiswaan FT Unhas Ciptakan Alat Pengubah Sampah Jadi BBM

Takalar, karebaindonesia.id – Bina Desa Bidang Kemahasiswaan Fakultas Teknik Unhas Tahun 2021 sukses diselenggarakan di Desa Lagaruda, Kecamatan Sanrobone, Kabupaten Takalar pada 19 Maret – 4 April 2021 kemarin.

Latar belakang pelaksanaan bina desa ini berkaitan erat dengan dampak pandemi covid-19 di kalangan masyarakat, terutama para nelayan Desa Lagaruda. Nelayan Desa Lagaruda mengalami penurunan penghasilan akibat pandemi covid-19.

Olehnya, bina desa Fakultas Teknik Unhas hadir memberikan solusi bagi para nelayan melalui pemanfaatan sampah plastik pantai menjadi bahan bakar minyak (BBM) yang dapat digunakan para nelayan dalam menjalankan aktivitasnya sehari-hari.

Kegiatan Bina Desa Fakultas Teknik Unhas 2021 memiliki beberapa agenda kegiatan, seperti sosialisasi lingkungan hidup, pembuatan alat pengubah sampah dan workshop cara penggunaan alat pengubah sampah hingga menjadi bahan bakar minyak. Puncak penyelenggaraan Bina Desa tersebut ditandai dengan penyerahan alat pengubah sampah plastik menjadi Bahan Bakar Minya (BBM) oleh Pihak Fakultas Teknik Unhas kepada pemerintah Desa Lagaruda yang digelar pada Minggu, 4 April 2021.

Wakil Dekan Bidang Kemahasiswaan, Alumni dan Kemitraan Fakultas Teknik Unhas menerangkan bahwa Bina Desa ini merupakan agenda rutin yang diselenggarakan setiap tahun sebagai wujud pelaksanaan salah satu poin tridarma perguruan tinggi yakni Pengabdian Masyarakat. “Bina Desa yang dilaksanakan merupakan tanggung jawab kami sebagai civitas akademik Unhas, hadir dan memberikan solusi untuk permasalahan yang dihadapi masyarakat” ujar Mukti Ali.

Selain itu, bina desa yang dilaksanakan tahun 2021 berbeda dengan bina desa tahun-tahun sebelumnya. Dimana, bina desa kali ini harus dilaksanakan dalam situasi pandemi Covid-19. “Bina Desa tahun ini digelar dimasa pandemi covid-19, olehnya, masalah yang harus dipecahkan adalah bagaimana Fakultas Teknik Unhas menciptakan inovasi sebagai solusi dari dampak pandemi covid-19”, lanjut Mukti Ali, Wakil Dekan 3 Fakultas Teknik Unhas.

Puncak Penyelenggaraan bina desa tersebut turut dihadiri oleh pemerintah desa Lagaruda. Pemerintah setempat menerima kegiatan bina desa ini dan berharap program ini dapat dilaksanakan setiap tahun.

“Kami sangat senang dengan adanya program bina desa Fakultas Teknik Unhas yang dilaksanakan di Desa Kami, apalagi bina desa ini memecahkan masalah sampah yang dialami sejak lama. Kami berharap, desa kami bisa mendapatkan pendampingan untuk tahun-tahun selanjutnya” ujar Kurniadi, Sekretaris Desa Lagaruda.

Alat Pengubah Sampah menjadi BBM yang diberikan oleh program bina desa Fakultas Teknik Unhas kepada Desa Lagaruda merupakan inovasi dalam menghadapi permasalahan sampah pantai Desa Lagaruda, alat tersebut mengubah sampah plastik pantai menjadi BBM melalui proses pembakaran, filtrasi dan pendinginan. “alat pengubah sampah menjadi BBM ini merupakan inovasi pemanfaatan sampah melalui proses pembakaran, filtrasi dan pendinginan yang mampu menghasilkan minyak dari uap pembakaran sampah” ujar Ardiansyah, Mahasiswa Elektro FT-Unhas, salah satu perancang alat pengubah sampah tersebut.
