Luwu, karebaindonesia.id – Tim Program Kemitraan Masyarakat Mahasiswa (PKM-M) Universitas Negeri Makassar (UNM) melaksanakan kampanye bahaya pembakaran jerami secara daring untuk masyarakat Dusun Labulawang, Desa Senga Selatan, Kec. Belopa, Kab. Luwu, Sulawesi Selatan

Kegiatan yang dilaksanakan melalui aplikasi Zoom ini dilaksanakan selama dua hari, yaitu pada Senin dan Selasa, 21-22 September 2020 lalu.

Kegiatan ini diinisasi oleh Arman Usman selaku Ketua Tim PKM-M dari Program Studi Akuntansi Fakultas Ekonomi yang beranggotakan M. Nur Farid dari prodi yang sama, Iftita Islamia Fatima dari Prodi Manajemen dan Nur Fadilla dari Prodi PKK-Busana Fakultas Teknik.

Dalam kegiatan ini, Tim PKM-M melaksanakan penyuluhan bahaya akan pembakaran herami dan pelatihan pemanfaatan jerami menjadi aneka bantal kepada Ibu rumah tangga di daerah setempat.

Arman selaku Ketua Tim PKM-M dalam wawancaranya mengatakann bahwa kegiatan ini mampu memberdayakan masyarakat agar lebih baik menyikapi dampak lingkungan dalam proses pembakaran jerami.

“Setiap pasca panen di dusun ini, sisa dari batang padi atau jerami pasti dibakar oleh masyarakat karena mereka beranggapan bahwa abu sisa pembakaran jerami bisa menyuburkan tanah, padahal hal tersebut keliru dan salah menurut Balai Besar Penelitian Tanaman Padi Kementerian Pertanian,” ujarnya.

Program Tim PKM-M yang dibimbing oleh Hajrah Hamzah yang dilakukan selama dua hari secara daring ini berjalan dengan lancar. Terlihat dari antusias yang sangat besar ditunjukkan oleh para ibu rumah tangga selama mengikuti proses penyuluhan dan pelatihan ini yang dimana penyuluhan mengenai bahaya dan dampak pembakaran jerami dilakukan di hari pertama dengan judul materi “Stop Pembakaran Jerami” dan di hari ke dua pelatihan pengolahan jerami dan pembuatan sarung bantal.

Selain itu, Tim PKM-M juga memberikan materi mengenai kiat-kiat brand dan pemasaran produk. Hal tersebut bertujuan agar produk yang dihasilkan berupa bantal selain dapat dijadikan sebagai kebutuhan rumah tangga juga dapat dijadikan sebagai produk yang bisa dipasarkan

“Program ini bertujuan agar menumbuhkan kesadaran masyarakat setempat untuk tidak lagi membakar jerami dan beralih memanfaatkan jerami menjadi produk yang bernilai guna dan bernilai ekonomis,” ujar Farid sebagai bagian dari Tim PKM-M.

Selain Farid, Iftita yang juga bagian dari Tim PKM-M berharap setelah penyuluhan dan pelatihan ini dilakukan, maka diharapkan masyarakat dapat mengaplikasikanya.

“Semoga setelah penyuluhan dan pelatihan ini, masyarakat daerah setempat dapat mengaplikasikan materi yang diterima, dan bisa mengurangi pembakaran jerami yang selama ini terus dilakukan oleh masyarakat di Dusun Labulawang,” tutupnya.[]
