Makassar, Karebaindonesia.id — Olahraga sepeda diakui memang telah menjadi trend yang sangat luas dalam beberapa tahun terakhir ini. Dibuktikan dengan banyaknya komunitas sepeda yang berdiri di Makassar.
Dari sepeda gunung, sepeda balap, sepeda lipat, sepeda cross country, extreme, free ride, fixie, dan lain-lain.
Membentuk komunitas sepeda bukan hanya sebagai wadah untuk menyalurkan hobi namun juga sebagai media untuk menyebarkan misi sosial dan harapan mereka sebagai pesepeda.
Komunitas sepeda fixie terbesar di Makassar yaitu Makassar Fixed Gear (Mafixed) adalah salah satu komunitas yang rutin mengadakan gerakan sosial dengan tajuk Indonesia Critical Mass.
Critical Mass merupakan sebuah gerakan independen dan spontanitas oleh para pengguna sepeda dijalanan raya untuk menyuarakan hak sesama pengguna jalan raya.
Sering terjadi diskriminasi oleh pengendara bermotor terhadap pejalan kaki dan khususnya pesepeda bahkan hingga terjadi kecelakaan.
Kegiatan ini pertama kali mendunia dan dilakukan oleh masyarakat Sans Fansisco, Amerika Serikat pada tanggal 25 September 1992 lalu berkembang menjadi kegiatan rutin setiap bulan pada hari Jumat terakhir, dimulai petang hari hingga malam.
Di Indonesia kegiatan ini digagas oleh para pengguna sepeda Fixed Gear yaitu IDFixed (Indonesian Fixed Gear) pada bulan Februari 2012 dan dalam sekejap diikuti oleh beberapa kota lainnya seperti Makassar, Yogyakarta, Banjarmasin, Solo, Bandung dan Bogor.
Tahun ini, gerakan Indonesia Critical Mass memilih titik finish di Nipah Mall yang digelar pada hari Jumat, 25 September 2020 di Rooftop Garden Nipah Mall.
Sebelum finish di Nipah Mall, sebanyak 100 pesepeda melalui rute titik kumpul di Bank Indonesia – Jenderal Sudirman – Sungai Saddang Lama – Veteran Utara – Al Markaz – Urip Sumoharjo – Finish Nipah Mall.
Berkolaborasi dengan Nipah Mall, sebagai satu-satunya mal ramah pesepeda di Makassar, menjadikan Nipah Mall sebagai titik finish gerakan ini.
“Kami memilih berkolaborasi dengan Nipah Mall sebagai titik finish Indonesia Critical Mass tahun ini sebagai bentuk apresiasi kami terhadap pengelola Nipah Mall yang memberikan kebijakan bagi para pengunjung untuk bisa bersepeda didalam area mal,” ungkap Ifin dari komunitas Makassar Fixed Gear.
Selain komunitas sepeda fixed gear, beberapa komunitas sepeda lainnya juga turut meramaikan night ride Indonesia Critical Mass malam tadi, salah satunya dari komunitas sepeda lipat.
General Manager Nipah Mall & Office Building, Richard Abraham mengatakan, pihaknya menyambut baik kehadiran 100 pesepeda yang finish di Nipah Mall setelah menyelesaikan rute night ride-nya berkeliling kota Makassar.
“Malam ini Nipah sangat ramai oleh pesepeda. Kehadiran mereka memberikan warna yang unik dan suasana yang berbeda di Nipah Mall. Tentunya dengan tetap menerapkan protokol kesehatan”, ungkapnya.
Seperti yang diketahui, setelah menyediakan beragam fasilitas olahraga didalam mal, pengelola mal membuka akses dan mengajak pengunjung untuk menikmati uniknya Nipah Mall dengan bersepeda didalam area mal.
Hal tersebut yang memacu dan menjadi inspirasi bagi Nipah Mall untuk terus berinovasi serta menjadi solusi bagi siapapun yang menginginkan gaya hidup sehat.
Hadirnya program bersepeda didalam mal menjadikan Nipah Mall layak dikatakan mal ‘ramah pesepeda’. Komunitas-komunitas sepeda sekarang mempunyai alternatif titik kumpul baru yaitu Nipah Mall.
