Wakil Ketua DPRD Kabupaten Sidrap, H. Syaharuddin Alrif menggelar Sosialisasi nilai-nilai kebangsaan di Aula Kampus Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidrap (UMS) Kabupaten Sidrap, Senin (19/4/2021).
Kegiatan ini dihadiri oleh anggota DPRD Sidrap, Abdul Rahman Mustafa (ARM), Seluruh staff Kampus UMS dan kurang lebih 100 Mahasiswa.
Rektor UMS Sidrap, Dr. Jamaluddin AhmadSos, M.Si mengucapkan banyak terima kepada Wakil Ketua DPRD Sidrap yang telah hadir membawakan nilai-nilai kebangsaan.
Dalam kegiatan sosialisasi ini juga dirangkaikan dengan penyerahan beasiswa yang ditujukan kepada 258 Mahasiswa
Dr Jamaluddin Ahmad menambahkan bahwa syarat penerima bantuan pertama mahasiswa harus memegang kartu Indonesia Pintar (KIP), KIS dan usulan masyarakat
“Yakni calon mahasiswa yang memiliki kecerdasan, namun tidak memiliki kemampuan finansial berhak menerima beasiswa dengan persyaratan seperti itu,” ujarnya.
Wakil Ketua DPRD Sulsel, Syaharuddin Alrief memuji pimpinan UMS karena sejumlah mahasiswa yang membayar SPP semester dikembalikan.
Pengembalian uang Itu dilakukan karena para mahasiswa tersebut ternyata memperoleh beasiswa.
“Saya salut dengan kejujuran Pak Rektor, padahal mahasiswa sudah itu ikhlas membayar, namun itu telah dikembalikan,” kata Syaharuddin Alrif
Syaharuddin Alrif mengungkapkan, perjuangan untuk membawa program
beasiswa untuk para siswa yang melanjutkan pendidikan di jenjang
perkuliahan di wilayah, Sidrap, Pinrang dan Enrekang itu berkaca dari kesulitannya saat uliah dulu di kampus yang sama dimana dia tak mampu membayar uang kuliah.
Untuk itu, melalui kesempatan dan kemampuan yang diembannya saat ini, Saharuddin Alrief pun mencari peluang untuk generasi muda yang kesulitan biaya dengan memberikan beasiswa Rp.50 juta lebih per mahasiswanya.
“Tiap bulannya juga akan diberikan beasiswa Rp.700 ribu perbulan permahasiswanya,” tutupnya.
